What is acupuncture?
Acupuncture is part of a system of healing known as Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) which has been practiced in China and other Eastern countries for thousands of years. According to traditional Chinese philosophy, our health is dependent on the body’s motivating energy - known as Qi - moving in a smooth and balanced way through a series of meridians (channels) beneath the skin.
Acupuncture involves the insertion of fine gauge needles into specific points on the body. The aim of acupuncture is to promote metabolic functions and restore homeostasis.
